UCEA spotlights Diana Holley!

Diana Holley
I started working for the Utah County Recorder's Office in 1997.  I didn't know what I was getting myself into at the time, I was just a single mom raising two children on my own and looking for a great job to provide for me and my family,  well.... sixteen years later, t
hat is exactly what I got, plus a whole-lot-more!
I have found many good friends, great opportunities and a job that I absolutely love!

Now that my children are raised I have a little more time for Golfing, Gardening, and Goofing around, "The 3-G's".

There are many things I've found out that I like to do over the years, (more out of necessity), such as; plumbing repair, auto-repair, small appliance repair, sprinkler repair, bicycle repair, and the list goes on!  You know, "Jack of all trades, master of none".

I enjoy extending a hand of friendship by smiling or saying hello to everyone I meet each day.
My family comes first and foremost in my life, often we plan activities centered around keeping us close, having fun and taking care of one another.
I look forward to many more years working in the Recorder's Office.
Now in closing I will quote a line from Forest Gump , "That's All I have To Say About That!

UCEA Spotlights RaNae Powell!

RaNae Powell

RaNae Powell began working in Personnel in 1997 which she enjoyed and where she became acquainted with many employees at the County. In 2002 she was promoted to an Administrative Secretary position at the Health Department in Administration where she loved being “in the know” with public health related issues. She helped pilot the travel request program in the Financial Management system when it was first being developed. In 2007 she transferred to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) division where she currently works. She enjoys working at WIC with wonderful people to associate with. She is a Notary Public and happy to provide these services to other employees.
RaNae served on the County Risk Management committee several years filling the Secretary and President roles. Her favorite accomplishment was seeing a handicap access door installed in the County Administration building south entry. She coordinated quarterly employee blood drives for the Red Cross, while being a donor herself, for five years. She was recognized by Red Cross for her passion for and efforts organizing these blood drives. County employees were always generous blood donors and willing to participate which made this job much easier.
She was an active member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) for eleven years. She served on their board in several leadership positions and assignments including President. She was recognized twice as Chapter Member of the Year for her service and cheerful and encouraging attitude towards the members.
RaNae served on the Utah County Employee Association (UCEA) committee a few years helping with activities and events and participating regularly in committee meetings. Who would have thought dozens and dozens of cookies could be packed into her car during transport for the Halloween activities for County employees! It really takes a group of hard working persons to pull off these UCEA luncheons and events. She has a good rapport with employees in various departments and was a great resource to the committee when they needed contact information.
Co-workers comment on her tremendous patience, optimism, reliability, professionalism, creativity, problem solving skills and pleasant personality. She is very aware of the needs of staff and is willing to go out of her way when they are in need of anything, finding ways within policy if needed, arranging for budget transfers and defending the need for purchases. She is responsible to publish the WIC Bytes, a WIC newsletter created monthly that reviews new policies from the state, keeps us updated on county changes, and most importantly helps us keep up with all the changes in the lives of our staff. Staff always rates her newsletters as outstanding. RaNae is a wonderful, hardworking, fun loving employee and friend and is a great asset to Utah County WIC.
RaNae grew up on a farm in Roosevelt, Utah. She graduated from LDS Business College. She lives in Lehi with her husband Karl. They are members of the Timpanogos Gem & Mineral Society and enjoy rock hounding. Petrified wood is her favorite rock to collect. She was recently asked by the Society president to serve as assistant treasurer.  She has volunteered at events for Thanksgiving Point the past three years. RaNae collects recipe books and likes to try new recipes. She is especially fond of her four grandchildren and enjoys spending time with them and her basset hound, Annabelle.
