Meet Utah County Employee Larna Burgess

Here's a little about me...

I have been employed for the county for 14 yrs. My job title is Custodial Services Coordinator. I have 11 buildings to keep track of. 8 are cleaned by the contractors. I clean 3 buildings - Foothill, Emissions, and south fuel station. I go on call for Bio Hazard clean up at the Jail rotating 2 weeks on 6 weeks off. I am in charge of the table and chair set ups in the Admin, H. J. B. Courthouse conference rooms. Including the normal everyday cleanups.

I was born and raised in Provo. Lived most of are married life in Payson. Moving south of the border to Mona 8 years ago. I have been married 38 yrs to a wonderful husband. I have one son that is disabled that lives at home and a grandson that comes when he can. I enjoy sitting in my beautifull back yard with a fire in the pit looking at beautiful Mt. Nebo. My hobbies include camping in my yard, name extracting, I used to do a lot of crocheting and sewing. I was raised by a mother that taught me the value of work and service. Each day I strive to do something good for someone other than my family. This brings the most joy to me.

What makes this County job enjoyable are the employees that I work with and the people I meet that comes into the County. There are so many good employees that work for the County. No matter which building I go in they are there. They make my job so much easier when everyone is willing to help.

When you get old you can give advice knowing no one will listen....here it is any way. Enjoy life to the fullest do not wait for the golden years cause they are not golden. Strive each day to do something good for someone not close to you it really does bring much happiness.

Meet Utah County Employee Renee Huggins-Carron!

Hi! My name is RenĂ©e, and I am the Administrative Assistant for the Utah County Clerk/Auditor, Bryan E. Thompson. I’m really excited to be in the “spotlight” this week! This Fall will mark my 5 year anniversary with Utah County, and it gets better every year. My main responsibilities here include scheduling the weekly meetings of the Utah County Commissioners, taking notes and transcribing the minutes of those meetings, as well as ensuring that contracts and other necessary paperwork is completed throughout that process.

I graduated with an Associates Degree in Performing Arts (Theatre/Acting) from Utah Valley University, and have been a part of the Utah County family since. Before that, I lived in Salt Lake City, preceded by Brooklyn, New York, where my parents moved after my birth in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. I live in Orem with my husband Andrew (also of five years!) and our two “kids”: a rambunctious (read: ridiculously hyper) Airedale Terrier named Percy, and his spoiled Standard Poodle big sister Annabel.

I’ve made some great friends in the few years that I have been here, and hope that knowing a little about me will lead to even more. Feel free to stop in and say hello anytime!
